At the start, we debated whether we even needed a wedding planner. I thought wedding planners were reserved for the wealthy or destination wedding. They're not. They are the people you need to make sure your day meets all of your dreams (even if you have no idea where to start!) and that it runs so smoothly you don't even know when there's chaos going on behind the scenes. Like most brides, I underestimated the amount of work that goes into a wedding. Every single detail. And the magic comes from these details, they make the wedding one to remember. When I first spoke to Jen about our small simple wedding I made I was so nervous because my wedding had to be so small (during peak covid times) I was desperate for it not to feel like an empty wedding. I needed little surprises everywhere to make us, and our guests feel special and to put aside the pandemic going on around us just for one day. This is exactly what Jen worked so tirelessly to create with me. She knew exactly what we needed. I started off with 'maybe some flowers' in my brief and within days I was asking for fireworks, full 7 course menu, exquisite cocktails, the most incredible flower display and everything in between. Our venue was a blank canvas and she made it all possible. Jen’s understanding of what we wanted, her attention to detail, connections with suppliers, amazing response times and ability to make it actually happen on the day were all outstanding. And she is truly wonderful to work with. She never pushed me or hounded me to make decisions . I am inherently not very organised and probably a bit lazy when it comes to any kind of admin, Jen is the opposite. She's the most organised and efficient person I've ever met and dealt with everything in her stride. We were met with many difficult situations in trying to organise a socially distanced Covid compliant wedding with ever changing government rules. Jen handled it all like a pro. Two weeks before our wedding day our whole wedding was cancelled due to Covid. She helped us work through our options and never once pushed us during a very difficult time. With 7 days’ notice our wedding was back on and she still made it happen! Incredible. Amazing. Jen is an excellent businesswoman and someone I now count as a friend, through her support she made all of our wedding dreams possible.
If you are in any doubt as to whether you need a wedding planner, think again, she was 100% the best money we spent in our entire wedding and could not have done it without her.
